Pedal Commander is a throttle response controller that removes response delays on any vehicle with an electronic gas pedal (most vehicles made after 2005). This is achieved by amplifying the signal being sent from the sensor on your gas pedal to the vehicle’s ECU (computer). Today’s newer vehicles lack the responsiveness that came with older throttle cables. It doesn’t matter how fast you push your gas pedal to the floor, you don’t have access to all the power your vehicle has to offer. We are your solution!
As a new release, Pedal Commander now has Bluetooth connectivity capabilities! The new Bluetooth Pedal Commander unit still works the same way as the previous P4 model, with the same throttle maps and internal chip. The Bluetooth units will just have the capability to connect to your phone and control the unit remotely with some additional wireless features!
The Pedal Commander app is free and already available on Apple (iOS 10 or later) and Android (Android 5.1 or later) devices.
Here are a list of features that are now available with the Bluetooth connectivity:
- The first time you connect, the app will ask you to input the 6-digit serial number on the back of your Pedal Commander. After that, as long as the Bluetooth on your phone is turned “on,” it will automatically find your Pedal Commander and start in the last mode you left it in.
- You can now change all modes and sensitivity levels from the app.
- You can keep the Pedal Commander mounted in a hidden/unseen location and operate it completely from the app.
- If you have multiple Pedal Commander Bluetooth devices on multiple vehicles, you can store them all in the app and name each one.
- The app is also able to be translated into 4 languages, and we’re currently working on adding more.
- You can change the background image for the app: choose between black mesh, carbon fiber, or black.
- You can change the brightness of the LED lights on the Pedal Commander.
- You can view installation videos from the app.
INSTALL:
- With the vehicle off, leave the doors unlocked and keep key fob at least 30 feet away during installation. Allow vehicle to completely power down for 5 minutes.
- Locate your gas pedal assembly plug.
- Disconnected the gas pedal assembly plug. ** Some vehicles will have ‘locks’ on the plug that need to slide out before removal.
- Connect the male and female ends of the Pedal Commander harness into their coordinating connections on the gas pedal. Make sure you hear a “click” from each plug to make sure they are fully connected.
- Tuck cables away so they are not at risk of compromising movement of the gas pedal while driving.
- Route Pedal Commander to where you may access it easily.
- Use the provided alcohol wipe to clean the area you want to mount the unit to.
- After the cleaned area has fully dried, apply the provided velcro to the bracket and the cleaned area.
- Place Pedal Commander into the bracket and you’re done!
One of our most frequently asked questions is “how much horsepower does it add?” Pedal Commander doesn’t add any horsepower, but it does let you use the existing horsepower of your engine by allowing you to access it quicker with the amplified signal.
This performance increase cannot be achieved with your typical aftermarket tune or programmer. Pedal Commander is the only device that lets YOU choose how you want your throttle to respond and change it on the fly. There are 4 different modes, with 9 sensitivity levels for each mode. This gives you a total of 36 levels of response to choose from, ensuring there is something for every driver in every vehicle.
While there may not be anything else out there like it, Pedal Commander is completely compatible with any other aftermarket parts you may already have. And since we don’t use the OBDII port, this means it’s a perfect match to compliment your existing tune or programmer to maximize your driving experience.
We understand not wanting to risk voiding the maintenance program on a new vehicle, but that no longer means you have to wait 5 years/50,000 miles before you can start customizing your car or truck to drive how you want it to.
When a dealership does any kind of work or repair, they run a scan on the vehicle’s computer to see if anything has been changed. Other aftermarket tuners and programmers will leave “flags” on the ECU after they’ve been installed, and will remain even after they’ve been removed. These digital footprints are what cause the dealership to void any kind of claim or maintenance program.
Pedal Commander is 100% UNTRACEABLE by dealerships. Before going in for service, just make sure you turn the unit off and tuck it out of sight and you’re good to go! You can leave it plugged in, no need to un-install or re-install, and they’ll never know it was there.
